I have noticed recently when driving the car that it feels like there is some type of binding or something. Hard to describe. I feel it under my left foot when steering.(I rest my foot where a clutch would be if standard) Could it be the control arm or rack? The steering and suspension seem to be fine.

doug,
This may be your problem...is it cold right now where you live? Does the problem seem worse when the car has sat in the cold and first driven...then the problem goes away when the car heats up? If you answered yes to both questions then the steering knuckle (u-joint) needs freeing up with penetration oil then greased. It is difficult to get to from above, on a hoist and from the bottom is the easiest. If the u-joint needs replacing (not common on 850s) the it's a major labor demand requiring the lowering of the front frame unit to access the joint. If you answered no to my previous questions then I have just wasted my time!

Have you greased the "wheel stops"? I had a similar complaint and the dealer simply lubed the "wheel stops" and it was fine. It should be done at every oil change I think.

Come on Doug. If you can't describe the problem, how do you expect anyone to help you?

Ken
I have been reading some of your messages this morning and I have to say....you are being a jackass. If you can't help by being polite, then don't reply at all. Doug sorry for Ken and his message...

Its a vibration that you feel throught the floor board being isolated to the area to left of the brake pedal. You feel it on your foot when turn the steering wheel (at least 1/2 turn) either way.
I want to check the control arm if its attached to the chassis at that spot.

I'm looking into the monitor as hard as I can...and I don't see it, let alone feel it.

Pretty vague
