850 turbo wheel clearance question 850 1997

I'm thinking of getting 1 inch wider wheels for my 850 T-5. I'm on the stock 16x6.5" et43 wheels now with 205/55R16 tires. If I change to a 16x7.5" et35 wheel with the same tires I've calculated that the change will reduce clearance 5mm on the inside of the tire/wheel and 20mm on the outside.

I believe that I'm good on the inside clearance all the way around, but I'm concerned that when the suspension compresses over bumps I will rub the tires on the outside of the tire. If the tires move up into the car as little as 2 inches I believe the bigger wheels will cause the tires to rub.

Question 1: With the stiff suspension of the T-5, maybe the wheels will never move up that much. How much suspension travel is there?

Question 2: Is anyone currently running 16x7.5" et35 wheels with 205/55 tires successfully?

Thanks...Mike

2) u don't need to run 7.5 wheels if u wanna get 205-55-16 tires. however, some people have experienced rubbing...volvo did offer it as an optional tire size 205-55-16. some people r fine.

i have lowering ipd springs and bilstein hd...i ran 205-45-17 and 215-40-17 no problem. 215-45-17 rubs slightly when the car is run really hard... and it only rubs the outside fender right above the tire.
