Front passenger thump 850 1996

The car has 111,000 miles and I have been hearing a thump/clunk everytime I go over a bump. It is only happening on the front passenger side wheel well. anybody have any thoughts. is it the strut or the rubber mounts on the strut?

I had a similar noise and "fixed" it by smearing lithium grease into the (failed) rubber mount to stop the noise. Still haven't gotten around to replacing the mount; or struts.

More than likely the strut spring seat(s) have gone bad.

$26 dollar part but labot intensive as the strut must come out to get to it.

Spring seat replacements are VERY common to the 850s.
