OBD II...Which one do you have, and are you happy with it? V70-XC70

Which OBD II scanner unit do you have? I've seen the one that is a software program to be used with a laptop, an Actron and an Eqqus unit. Are these units doing the same function or is one unit giving us more useful information about our Volvos? Thanks.

Dennis, I think it depends on what you want or are looking for. The Eqqus unit that I saw was just a READER, that is, they only gave you code #'s. If you want to chk. up on the Volvo Tech, then maybe that's enough.
I wanted more, so I investigated several models on the net, and finally decided on one from (www.ghg.net/dharrison). It's a software and hardware package that will work on my PDA, Laptop or Desktop PC. I believe it was $129 to do Volvo only, but I wanted to do all 4 protocols (different cars) so I paid extra for that, $179 I think. Improvements in software are free and down loadable A.I.R. Thaanks for the info. Are you very happy with your selection? Does it work for any Palm Pilot...even the cheapie Palm IIIs? or any laptop(even a P166 chip)? What kind of useful information can you glean from the software program? Thanks for your replies.

Dennis, go to www.ghg.net/dharrison they explain everything that their packages will do. I have a M125 Palm that was $125, but they show it working with others also. My Laptop is an old Toshiba Pentium (133meg hz) and it works fine and is easier for me to use, because the screen is so small on the Palm. Tom

The Harrison set-up looks pretty good, as it works with a palm pilot as opposed to a 50 foot cable. Good tip, thanks.
