Heated Mirrors 850

Hey all....
The drivers side heated mirror on my 96 854 seems to be inop. Passenger side seems to work great. The power mirror adjusment works fine, so I know there is power there. Anyone experience this so I have a starting point?
Thanks!

Nate's probably correct. The wiring to the element is not the same as what's going to the motor so it could be another problem but to check it, the first place to start is at the element which means carefully removing the glass and checking for voltage at the two element connectors. If you don't know how it's done, it's possible that you could break the glass in the process so proceed with caution if you want to try it yourself.

The heating element is probably gone. I had to replace just the glass element which I believe is attached to a heating element but don't quote me. It cost me about $80 to have it done at the dealer...works great now.

The element is probably shot. This is a quick do it yourself job and should cost you no more than $40 for the glass. Be careful and softly pull the old mirror off by turning it all the way to the left or right with the power button, reach under and pull gently. The new one will just clip in.
