s80 engine problem S80

Hi All Ive been reading for a few months but now I've got a problem.
My 99 S80 T6's engine (84K) wouldnt rev past about 1,800 rpm in drive or neutral tonigt about 5 blocks from home at full throttle I had nothing......in drive or nuetral or any of the automatic gears. I idled home and upon restart seamed to have full rpms again but a emissions erorr on the display and a less than smooth engine if I reved it up. But atleaset it reved up right? What the hell is with this car? Every month somthing acts up and goes away the next morning. I had what my dealer said was a whole NEW computer ans softwar put in in August!. i have other sympoms of the S80 disease decribed by somany as riough idel, stalling, surging at full throttle and variouse outages of electrical systems that return with nothing done as a fix. what the heck is with the engine now and the throttle controll or should it be terminated ASAP!!
Awseome driving, comfrt, looks and speed but christ will it ever finnish a ride with out some complaint?

It's likely to need either an ETM (electronic throttle module) and/or the MAF sensor. Both have become fairly common failure items with all '99-'00 Volvos.

Dude,
Sometimes there are bad years for Volvo models.. 1999-2000 was a bad year.. Similar problems have occured for certain years on the 700's and 900's too..

The throttle bodies aremade in Italy by Magneto Marrelli. They had so many problems with them, they switched to Bosch. Marrelli makes the Fiat electronic componants, "Fix it again Tony"!
