How to get timing belt tensioner pulley off? S70 1998

Hello,

I am trying to get the timing belt tensioner pulley off. It looks like there is a Torx bolt in the center of the pivot but none of my Torx bits seem to go in all the way. I am afraid of screwing it up so I want to be sure.
