Is anyone using Mobile 1 engine oil,and does your engine use any? Also are there any Volvo approved engine additives on the market?

I use Mobil 1 in all 3 cars, no consumption between changes. It even works in my 25 year old lawn tractor, it burns nothing too!

HEY WILLS,WHAT KIND OF MODS DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR "R" ?

In the owners manuals it says Volvo highly recomends the use of synthetic engine oil on all turbo models.
The same lit also says volvo does not recomend the use of ANY oil or fuel additives!

99% of the people here who own turbo models do use a "high end" synthetic engine oil.

I use Mobil 1 (as many others here do). I have it
in our 98T5M and 95 855GLT. Both use about a quart
every 3000 miles (considered normal). If you have a
turbo you should be using a synthetic oil.

There are no apporved additives that I know of and none
worth using.

Don't use synthetic now on my V70R but am religious about quality oil and change time. My brothers the same---his 94 850 Turbo got 190K before replacing the turbo using Dino oil but again he was religious. Ended up selling car with 215K because he had it long enough and picked up a V70R as well. My 90 740GL went 190K on Dino before I picked up my R, again I just wanted a change and that engine was still humming!!!!!!!!!!!!
