Internal temperature sensor V70-XC70 1999

EEC showing 20 second flashing lights on start up. Dealer says needs new internal temperature sensor which fitted would cost £140 and could be affecting the trip computer, although I haven't noticed anything. If I just buy the part can I fit this easily myself and get rid of the flashing orange lights? Or are there any other solutions? Unit is currently pumping air out at a rather low unchangeable temperature.

Dealer has now fitted new sensor - the one behind the small grill alonside the ECC control panel. Cost £140 but all is OK. The old sensor was clearly full of dust and fluff probably effecting the efficiency of the small fan. On another forum someone had the same problem with the same vehicle. He took my advice and used a vacuum or an air line to clear the dust build up, and it worked apparently.
