Kris- the good news is that your ABS/Tracs will work SOMETIMES/MOSTLY during the cold months; the bad news is you will still have to replace the module and probably sensors if you wish a 100% fix. I live in the tri-state area(NY-NJ-CT) and since the temps. have fallen, I have a 50/50% working/not-working Tracs/ABS. unit. It's usually 20/80%. Upon driving for the first time in sub-40 degrees, the unit would cycle for a few seconds(2-3 at most) and the lights go off(ie the unit is working). Sometimes after driving for 20-30mins, it comes back on. But in general, in the colder temps, the unit cycles ON(meaning in my garage, when I start the car the ABS/TRACS lights are ON, but aft. I get on the street for a few seconds, the lights go off). I sometimes press the TRACS button and the light go on & off on my command. CONCLUSION: The cold weather has some kind of effect on this unit; I'm going to replace my unit in the spring, since I had a real scary near miss last friday. Volvo really need to look into these units cause they seem to fail regardless of age/use/climate.......or well. Everytime I see that light come on I feel like i'm being screwed swedish style!!!!! BD
