Hey all. I've got a 94 850 n/a. I started up my baby this morning when it was minus 15 celcius outside. I let her idle for about a minute or two before I put it in reverse. I noticed that it did'nt want to move in reverse however. I then put it into drive, and the orange dash light started to blink, as well as the lights on the econo and sport switch. My car is now moving around in "safe" mode so it's basically stuck in 3rd I think. I've got 230,000km's on it and recently it's started to act up on me a bit, aside from this tranny trouble.

Does anyone have any suggestions???

PNP that what wrong... I just fix mine last week give yourself 7 hours..

simple job but first time... very easy with every one hepl and instruction
is on BAY 13 have all the picture and detail....

PNP cost $90

On selecting a shop: Call around and find one that has
replaced a few PNP switches. They fail often and it should
not be too hard to find a shop that has done a few.

Sounds like a classic case of PNP switch failure. Check bay 13 for details on replacement.

'97 855 That does 50,000 miles anually

It's the PNP switch. Mine had the same problem about 2 weeks ago and they replaced the PNP switch. All is well now.

they do seem to fail more often at the onset of the real cold....or when it infact does get real cold.
