Here is my short story, I'm the owner of an 88 780 and I modified a SC-816 AM/FM/CD/CASS into my car. It wasn't an easy task, but job turn out great. It looks and sounds like if it were a factory installation; only if Volvo offered this stereo back then. But my problem is, I'd like to know if anyone knows the info or where I can get the schematic for the 6-pin AMP, which is located on back of radio (obviously). I'm going to add a BOSE subwoofer that was removed from an Audi A6 wagon. And I'd like to use the output signal, for the rear speakers, from the 6-pin AMP. My intentions are not to have my car sounding like a boom box, but simple just to a better sounding system. SO and info would be great, thanks and GO Kings!! (LA of course)

Thanks Francisira for info, but I was looking for the info on the pinout on the 6-pin AMP connector. I did do a search on brickboard and found an archive message from Sept. 99 'V70 pinout'. It is somewhat helpful and informative but would like to know/see a diagram of connector showing which pins are which. Thanks again

I am planning to add an amp to my SC-811 this weekend. Here is some 6 pin wiring info I found somewhere online a few weeks ago:

Using a standard 6 pin din, with pin 1 to the upper left and going CCW to pin 6 in the middle:
pin 1: FL
pin 2: FR
pin 3: RR
pin 4: common audio ground
pin 5: RL
pin 6: amp turn on (+12V)

The plug you need is a 6 pin DIN (not to be confused with a 6 pin MINI DIN). Radio Shack didn't carry this item, but I found an excellent online elctronics retailer who shipped the plug in less than 3 days.
