2.3L or 2.4L? 850 1995

Gentlemen:
Which engine do I have the 2.3L or the 2.4L if I have a 1995 850 GLT badge?
It is not a turbo. I am not sure again which digit of my VIN tells me this.

Thanks!

You have the 2.4L engine. The engine code tells you.
It is something like (this is for the turbo):

    B5234T3

    B: Smething like B series
    23: 2.3 liter
    4: valves per cylinder
    T: Turbo
    3: Don't know

So you must have B5244*** somewhere on the car for the engine code.

It's about 2.4. In '95 there were only 2 5 cyl engines in the US and the only difference is turbo vs non-turbo. The turbo has slightly less displacement due to lower compression ratio pistons, otherwise it's all the same.

      81mm vs. 83mm

Actually, the lower displacement of the Turbo engine is due to a smaller bore, 81mm for the Turbo, and 83mm for the N/A engine.

      I know, I'm nit-picking!

I think yours is a 2.4. The NA models have a bit more volume than the turbo.......the HP turbos(2.3L) need thicker cyl walls and a lower compression ratio as well as a few other items to deal with the extra stress and heat of the HP turbo.
