engine missing with heavy braking 850 1993

I have a 850GLT 1993 which the engine begins to stall when the brake is applied heavy. Were should my troubleshooting start? Thank you

    try looking for vaccuum leak (or should i say listen for one), eg split hose - from brake booster area to manifold
