I presently own a 760 wagon and living in the north east, have thought about a used AWD wagon. Any problems with the AWD's ? Any years to stay away from, etc ?

Ok, buy the responses, I'll definitely stay away from an AWD. How about FWD ? Any problem years ?

All '98-'02s. Until now, the '03 XC70s all used a system prone to problems. The '03s use a better Haldex computer controlled AWD system.

Thanks very much for the AWD information ... very discouraging. I'm surprised Volvo would put such a design on the market. I think I'll look for a nice 960 wagon.

A nice 960 wagon which has had the original motor replaced with a Ford 5.0....
