850 Owners - Is the dash light dimmer slider illuminated? 850 1993

I'm on a quest to replace every burned out bulb. I'm replacing the bulb for the rear fog light switch and I can't recall if the little dimmer slide bar above it is supposed to be lit. It doesn't seem to pop out very easily so I'm hoping someone can let me know that its not supposed to be lit.

    Nope. Just drove home in the dark, and while the rear foglight switch immediately below it is illuminated, the dash light dimmer slider is not. (Nor is the rear/side mirror defroster switch on the RH side of the dash.) But the sunroof switch IS! Is there any rhyme or reason to this? :)

      I didn't think the dimmer slider was supposed to be lit, but does that really make sense? Also, your defroster switch should be lit. In fact, all the large square switches with the little panel above them are meant to light up. I'm planning a post on how I opened up the switch and soldered in new bulbs.

    I don't think the dimmer switch is lighted; mine never lights up; but then so does a lot of lights on that panel. Volvo really dropped the ball in the lights dept: No lights or lights the burn out too quickly. Oh well, BD

      I suspected the slider didn't light but thought that would illogical.
      Soldering new bulbs in isn't too bad, I'm hoping to post detailed instructions soon.
