Where is the speaker connector for the driver's front door? 850 1996

My neighbor has a 96 850 Wagon (he liked my 850 wagon so much, he gtot one too), and the driver's side dash speaker and door speaker are not working. Does anyone know where the connector for them is located at? I tried the fader controls and all other speakers work just fine. I am guessing it is a disconnected wire somewhere, because both the dash and door do not work. I suspect it is a connector near the steering column somewhere, or in the dash.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hello Ted,

1. Gently pry off the speaker covers. They have clips on the back so they snap on and off. I used a narrow flat screw driver and put tape on the end of it so the cover would not show evidence of removal.

2. Remove speaker screws, about four screws. It been over a year since I've had mine off.

3. Gently rotate speaker until wires are exposed. I think a blue clip holds the wires in place. And thats it.

I had to replace my front drivers side door speaker. O.E.M cost ~50 US dollars.

Good luck,

Bird
