Does anyone else experience a tire rub on their 2001 S60 with 17 inch wheels?
I was told by the dealer that this is common on cars with 17 inch wheels.
This car was on the lot with 16 inch rims and the dealer swapped 17 inch rims from another car for me. Is there a difference in steering stops etc for the 17 inch equipped cars?

As a coincidence, I talked about this topic with the service manager of my
dealership, last week. I have 17 inch wheels and I want to use smaller rims
for my winter tires. I just wanted to know if I needed to make some
adjustment.
He told me that the only difference is that you have bigger steering stops for
17 inch wheels. If your wheels were installed by the dealer, he should have
changed your steering stops. My wheels never rub.

I have the same car ('01 S60) and I ordered my car with 17" rims from the factory and I have no rubbing problems. I understand that there are different "steering stops" for different wheel sizes so it's possible that when the change was made at the dealer you have 17" wheels" with 16" wheel stops. This could be causing your problem.

Same deal, but mine do rub. At lock, it's pretty common. My gf's 850 w/ 205/55/15's rub too. It happens.

Do yours rub all the time? If they do then I'd worry about it.

I have a '01 2.4T; had 16 inch on it, swapped for 17inch and I needed to take it back to dealer to swap out the stops. It will stop after that, accept for the rub at the stop with the full turn.
