How hard to R&R transmission? V70-XC70 1998

I have a 98 V70 AWD. When I took it to the dealer to have a whine in low gear diagnosed, I was told I needed a new transmission. I really hated to tell the dealer that I had an extended warranty that covered transmission repairs...

In a nutshell, I am wondering what will be removed/disturbed during the replacemet process. Will I be losing the Mobil 1 oil I just changed at 80,000 miles a week ago? How about radiator fluid?

I have only worked on one transverse-mounted engine, and replacing the clutch without removing the engine meant taking one side of the front suspension off, but otherwise, nothing else was disturbed. I'm hoping the same applies for the wagon.

Thanks and Regards,

Mike Harris in Sandy Eggo

    Then, why ask? V70-XC70 1998

If it's covered, why ask? It's a 12 hour book time on your AWD car. The engine oil will not be drained, no need.
