abs computer module

just got off the phone with the parts dept counter person. i was asking about cost and availability of new abs module for my 850. i than asked her if they've been selling a lot of those. she said that they sold more than 200 this year alone !!!! she then encouraged me to file a report/complaint with the ntsb. if enough people complain, they might be able to force volvo to do something about this piece of #@$#@! they use. she said that it got results for the turn/park lights for the s/v 70's that let to volvo replacing them with better ones for free. i already submitted one. if you are having problems with your abs/tracs, please submit a complaint/report to the ntsb. we might have something done about this problem once and for all.
regards to all

Visiting the DOT website, although I KNOW there have been a rash of these failures posted here, I didn't see many complaints listed. Where can they be going?

Francisira,

The new part is re-designed. The printed circuit assembly is clearly made of a different material, and cracking of the board has been the problem to date.

This information should be useful in your quest for a viable solution. I just had mine replaced under extended warranty at nearly 80,000 miles.

Good luck.

hi sandy
so this is supposed to be the good one? shouldn't they be responsible for replacing the bad one with the "better" one? just my thought....
if i get one of the new ones, what manufacture year or any other things i should be looking for to be sure i get the new design
thanks and regards
