Volvo repair in the Chicago area 850 1996

        I do all my own work on my car, so I can't vouch for any of these guys, but . . .

        there is a Volvo specialist in Hubbard Woods (north Winnetka). I think his place is called Hubbard Woods Motors. He is in an old gas station in the center of town.

        There is a place up on Route 176 in Lake Bluff, half way between 94 and Waukegan Roads. It's on the north side of 176 and I think it's called VolvoTech, or SaabTech or SwedishTech.

          Yes, the Volvo facility on 176 near Lake Bluff is called Volvotech, run by a gentleman named Ken; well respected. [Saabtech is a great resource for Saab owners off Clybourn on the North Side; "Kevin".]

          Swedish Car Specialist in Schaumberg.

          Never been there but a person whom i alomost bought a V70 from used to get his tuneups and work done by him and he really liked him.......... to tell you the honest truth............. this guys prices are not all that cheaper than my local Volvo dealer in Wisconsin!!!!

            i used swede car specialist....randy is head mechanic...when i brought the car to him 3-4 years ago....i asked him to adjust the wastegate...he needed instructions i had recieved in an email from ipd...he had never done it before but was willing to try....clean shop..does maintenance cheaper than volvo of lisle...i feel he does a good job with regular stuff....but doesn dwell too much in tuner stuff....reliable!
