ABS (A3) code 142 850 1993

I noticed I have been receiving code 1-4-2 in port A3 for ABS on my '93 850. Everything seems normal, it doesn't set the light but it comes back after clearing. The description of the fault is Brake light switch fault - short or open. Is this a well known code for a common fault? Should I ignore it until there is a problem?

Hi ya,
I have suffer this same problem and also the 141. I cleaered to several times and cleaned the Pedal Sensor on the Master cylinder but it wouldn't go away. I have had to buy a new one £80 in the Uk about £120 i guess. You can live with it but i would get it replaced if you are keeping the car. The solder inside the unit as probally got cracks in it triggering the code.
