A few small problems with new V70 V70-XC70 2002

My V70 is 6000 miles new. The driver's side mirror rattles so bad on the highway that I can't see out of it, the back door on the driver's side doesn't unlock with the remote, and the driver's side front speaker is blown. Anyone else out there having these problems? My dealer is a city away, so I am trying to wait till my 7500 service to take it in; the longer I wait, the more things break!

Among other (much more serious)things - my drivers side front speaker is blown as well. And not because of abused! Experiencing any trouble with your transmission?

A few small problems with new V70 V70-XC70 2002

It's funny. I haven't had any little problems. Right after delivery, though, I noticed a steady oil leak on the driveway. After some initial resistance ("sure it's not your other car causing the spots?") they tracked it down. Had to pull the engine out to fix it. Apparently oil had spewed throughout the engine compartment, causing a huge mess. All put right, though, and since then it's run fine. Odd start, but I really like the car.

A few small problems with new V70 V70-XC70 2002

My 2002 V70 has had 2 minor problems: driverside door delamination- vehicle was 3 months old !

right rear coil spring was replaced - 5 months old, 5000 miles, kept making A "POPPING" noise when you made a right hand turn.

now about that DOOR LOCK PROBLEM, it happenend to me as well but it was on the passsenger side rear door and it happened when my sister in law grabbed the outside door handle just as I was unlocking the doors with the remote key fob and it would not open until I went inside of the car and manually pulled up on the door lock. it had jammed in the locked position and would not open with the remote key fob. this has happened 2 or 3 times. every time someone grabs the outside door handle when I am still unlocking the car with the remote. it will always jam. but will work just fine after you unlock the door from the inside, manually.

besides these minor quirks, I love this car, it has become my "magnificent obsession"

A few small problems with new V70 V70-XC70 2002

We had a bunch of small problems during the first 12K miles. Save them up and have them done all at once if you can. Car's been great once the little stuff was cleared up.

yadda-yadda-yadda...I guess my 2001 V70 T5 with a tad more than 27,500 miles and NEVER been repaired under warranty is a unique car...specially made for me so that it would never have a problem...

Come on, let's be honest, there is a little truth to the "1 in 12" horror stories....

Volvos do tend to have lots of annoying rattles.....and in some cases worse.
I got fed up after struggling with a suspension problem on my 2001 V70 T5.
Wanted so much to be a fan of Volvo (still reading the board!) but just couldn't deal with all the aggravation.

Traded in on a 540i wagon. Now I have to eat PBJ's for a while to pay for the difference but "the Panzer" is fast, functional and vault solid. I will miss the Volvo, but I'll get over it.

yadda-yadda.

Yeah, that goes for all 3 of mine too. In my buisness of new homes there is 1 in 12 that complains, and also seems to have everything happen to them...no wonder they complain!

Yea, isn't it something! I can't understand why Volvo has gone the way of Ford quality!

We had so many problems with the first 2000 V-70 - we gave it back! The second one has had all types of small electronic problems - switches, etc.. Had the transmission serviced at 30,000 and the tech said the fluid looked awful. I had a 240 and two 740's which were great. I will keep this one until the warranty is up then dump it. Why couldn't they leave a good thing alone.
