Manual recommendations S70 1998

I just acquired a 1998 S70Turbo. My previous 740 was destroyed by a Chevy truck and I have owned RWD Volvos beginning with 444, thru 164, 240 and 740. Needless to say, the underhood of my new car is unfamiliar. The new Chilton manual I got at Pep Boys is not much help in understanding this vehicle. For example, what is that black plastic box (by the windshield washer filler) with a polyvinyl hose going to the radiator shroud? Thanx

The ECU is under that cover. I did not know Chilton made a manual for the 70. I have the Haynes for my old 850 but haven't gotten the Haynes for the 70 yet as only the hardbound UK version is available at twice the price of the paperback.

How do you like the S70? I also just got a T5- great car and used ones are cheap given the flood of 3-4 year old off lease Volvos out there.

Thanx, I will look for a Haynes. I like the car. I thought I would miss the 740 more, this S70 seems to handle better. My wife thinks it is great too.
