Brake Rotors Warranty Item? S70 1999

I can feel vibration on my T5 when applying the brakes. It's not really bad at this point but was wondering since I still have a few months/miles left on the warranty if this would be covered. Just wondering what peoples' experiences have been with this. Thanks.

I had to go to another dealer to get my rear rotors replaced. One dealer says not warranty the others replaced them no charge.Volvo USA seems to give conflicting info to their dealers....or the dealers don't know how to interpet the info they do have. However, the mechanic at the second dealer had worked at the first dealer and did say they were rather tight on how they warranty things.I am going to call the rep in my area as I feel I shouldn't have to be a detective to search these matters out. Thanks to brickboard for the posts that got me to checking things out.

Good luck. I ended up replacing all 4 rotors on my '99 S70at my own expense. The dealer said no way are the rotors covered under warranty as did the Volvo rep at the 1-800 number. Bottom line, Volvo rotors suck and they know they have a problem but aren't willing to stand behind their product-

I have a 2000 S70 SE and Volvo replaced my rotors with 35,000 miles on them because of vibration - FREE - ..(wheel shaked when applying the brakes). I was surprise because my 2000 Honda Civic EX, which had the same problem with almost the same milage cost me a $400 brake job!

hello wayne,i have the same thing happening to my T-5.I was at my dealer today and asked them about warranty coverage on my rotors.I do have some pad life left but the dealer said no go on being replaced under warranty. The mechanic claimed they are not warped.I raised some questions about this in which they again claimed they called their rep and he said no go also.I am wondering now if its the pads that are causing the pulsing on the brake pedal. What did you find out so far? anybody else have a run around with this problem? I may check the rotors myself using a dial indicator to see if they are out of round. If they are.....i'll have to make some phone calls.

Rotors that are hot spotted, warped or corroded are covered if they are above minimum thickness specs. If they are below spec e.g. worn out, then they aren't covered even if they are warped or hot spotted. Volvo will pay for the rotors and the install, but you need to pay for the pads, which should be replaced to prevent the old rotors wear pattern from being transferred to the new ones.

Only if warped S70 1999

If they're warped, then yes.

If the pads are driven into the rotors doing damage to them or if the car sat for months and the rotors rusted, then no.
