Has anyone experienced a transmisson problem as I describe here?
When starting the car from cold and reaching about 30 mph the car sometimes becomes reluctant to change gear and very occasionaly a very slight and strange drive surge is felt. I have found that If i back off the throttle and then gently re-apply the throttle it will change up a gear sometimes, but if I give the car more throttle the car on most occasions seems to go into neutral and throws the fault code 3-2-2- and then goes into limp home mode. It appears that once the fault code is cleared and the car has covered approx 0.50 mile the transmission runs fine for the rest of the day.
I keep hoping this problem is due to a bad PNP rather than an internal transmission fault but my car's symptoms seem to be different from most 850 owners listed on the Brickboard. I should also point out that this problem has been getting worse over the last 2-3 month; and what was a one day a Week problem is now occuring nearly every day.
If the problem is not the PNP switch then does anyone know what would cause the transmission to run fine when its warm but appear to be dying when its cold? I have tried driving up and down hills at different speeds and if the gearbox is slipping then its not obvious..
Thanks for any info...
