My cars past and my new daily driver *LONG* S70

Just thought I would introduce myself to the group and show you some cars from my past and what I just bought today.

My first INTERESTING car was in 95. Before this cars were just a means of transportation. I mean I lusted for nice cars but never had the funds to purchase anything really "great". To make a long story short after years of school I finially could afford what I lusted for.

I had the usual mods for a car like this done:
KOENIG Twin-Turbo upgrade: complete engine conversion with 2 turbo-chargers (KKK), turbo-manifolds reduced compression (changed pistons), additional oil- and gearbox-cooling, special head gaskets, 2 intercoolers, changed exhaust-system, modified motronic, special air flow-meters:
3.5 L V8, 560 HP, around 485 lb-ft torque (all estimated)
6 speed
0-60: 3.7 sec.
0-120 mph: 11.9 sec.
1/4 mile 11.5 sec.

I'm sure all of us men realize this was a time before the wife. :) 3 years later while showing off to a friend I got into a tad bit of a wreck with my baby.

Shortly after her demise I was married and relocated to a "colder" climate. I had to think a little more reasonable as there might be snow on the ground!

I went the BMW route then.

This was in the days of early E46's and there was no E46 M3 so I had to make my own. So again did the usual mods:
Vortech V2SQ Supercharger, CNC machined and hard anodized brakets, CNC pulleys, serpentine drive belt, larger Bosch injectors, Recalibrated MAF, mandrel bent tubing with K&N filter, Bosch bypass-valve system, Oil pressure and return system, oil breather assembly.
5 speed
0-60: 5.7 seconds
Claimed 310 HP but I think it was more likely in the high 200's

Unfortunately the car turned out to be a LEMON!! Electrical problems left and right. Turn on your turn signal and your radio might turn off. Use the speakerphone and your cruise control might turn on.

Just as well. As us married men know that soon after marriage comes kids. So too was my fate with a great new baby girl. So I bought a good used 99 S70 T5. This will be my daily driver to and from the office. Days ago it was ferraris but today it's college funds, IRA's and wife who wants to stay home with our child. I think the S70 will do me just fine though and from everything I hear she'll be quite the performer in the end.

Now it's time to mod her up!

See you guys on the board.

Jim

Good call. After spinning through the grass median and rotating what felt like 12 times but was more likely 2 or 3 we were kindly stopped by a steel highway lamp post. Which over all was a blessing seeing that there was one of those highway ponds not but 50 feet further.

Other than the obvious vehicle damage everything was just fine. I had the prye my hands away from the steering wheel and shake some glass from my hair but they make those cars pretty tough.

165-170 mph and potholes just don't mix.
