headlights not working V70-XC70

My headlights are not working on my XC. No lights when the switch is in the up (on) position. My brights will come on when I pull the turn indicator toward me but they will not stay on. Fuses all appear to be good. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

The switch is NG. If a '98, it was a campaign item a few years ago, common problem.

I had the same problem on my s70 98 during vaction this summer once I finally got the switch out I pryed it out carefully not to scatch the plastic and it was not easy it basiclly fell apart once I removed it I took off the kick panel to recover the small pieces that fell i saw the top of the switch back cover was broken after carefully puting it back togather and plug it into the wiring everything worked if I held pressure to the top back of the cover so I super glued it closed and placed some electrical tape for added stren for a grand total of about 2hours of fidling and $4.00 cash

Even IF the part isn't FREE (warranty being a campaign item), it's certainly not an expensive item and takes about 1 minute to replace. Yes, they fall apart and have bad contacts so it's not worth trying to fix unless you have no other choices at the time.
