Unable to program keyless remote?

My keyless remote doesn't work, and my local dealer is unable to get the security system to accept a replacement key. There's apparently a problem with the LED not blinking after 5 turns of the ignition key.

Any suggestions?

    If it's an earlier model, one doesn't see the LED flash and there are 2 remotes for them that look the same but have different PNs (frequencies) so it's possible that you have the wrong remote for your car. It's possible that it's a control unit problem but that's rare.

        I am having the same problem. I have not noticed if the LED blinks after 5 turns, should it? I got my car 2 months ago, the remote hasn'nt worked since but the alarm does if I unlock it through the window and open the door. I am close to going to Volvo and purchasing the new remote. I am not sure of thier return policy(anyone?) in case this is not the issue. My old remotes might have been dropped one too many times, I hope :). Why did yours stop working, any ideas? Good luck- Stu.
