I've tried searching the archives but found nothing. I've heard a special "extractor" tool is required, but I've also heard you can do it carefully with needle nose plyers.
I'm trying with plyers but so far am not having much luck. It seems like i need to bend the little clips upwards so the small rod running into the emblem and cross can slide through.

Ah, I figured it out. You simply bend the little metal spacers in half with a needle noser plier, and carefully work them out.

...Very Easy to Do...elevate the Grille a Bit and Hold a Dowel on the Studs and gently tap them, Go About Half Way and Work each one, Then Go Back and And Finish 'Da Job...I Did It to Paint the Grille Black...It's VERY Easy, And You Can Replace the Badge By Placing the Emblem Piece on A Towel and Placing the "Rings" on the Studs and Using a Tubular Device and Tapping the Rings 'til they "Seat"...Everybody Happy?...AL...

To paint the grille black. Since there were so many recent threads on peoples experience with it, I've decided to try it out.
