Chipped LPT vs. Stock HPT 0-60 times.

ANy ideas?
I know the LPT engine cranks up faster. Would the chipped LPT engine beat the stock HPT on the 0-60?

Chipped LPT vs. Stock HPT 0-60 times.

I have driven quite a few iPd-chipped LPT cars and perhaps they can jump a stock HPT on the first gear, but after that they [LPT, chipped or not] are history.

Chipped LPT vs. Stock HPT 0-60 times. 850 1995

as previous posts note, the torque curve on lpt goes up faster than the hpt...so..even with stock lpt vs stock hpt, maybe 0-30 u'll be faster, but the last legs probably will be hpt. chipped lpt vs stock hpt, that'd be very interesting to see =)....i'd put my money on being pretty dead even...

I prefer the HP turbo, more hp/tq. As far as the weaker low end, an MBC solved it, much stronger now.

I agree with the previous poster. I have an IPDed LPT and it seems plenty fast to me. I suspect both LPT and HPT will experience the same traction limitations during 0-40 though.

I've thought about this before, I chipped my LPT to IPD ECU. Checked the graphs from IPD's site of HP and Torque between the LPT chipped and HPT stock and it seems to indicate that a chipped LPT can get to max HP quicker. There have been threads on this question before but at the end of the day, the only way to tell is to have a chipped LPT side by side with stock HPT to the 0-60. Graphs, numbers are all theory, there are so many other factors involved like driver, manual/auto, tires, etc. AND even if you actually raced the two, it doesn't mean that ALL chipped LPT can take ALL the HPT stock or vice versa. Set up another race between the two and you can get different results.

So ... interesting question but cannot be answered absolutely on a forum.
