Turbo question 850

I just bought an 850 turbo with 88ki mi. When accelerating hard, there is a definite sound of air being bled off or leaked, which I originally thought was just a sound turbos make.

I have noticed, however, that the turbo guage rarely passes 50% of the white area, and then only when between 5-6000 RPM. I want to ask all my (now) fellow 850t drivers if they experience the same thing.

The dealer(/indy volvo shop) I bought it from claimed to have done a full tune up, timing belt, plugs, etc.

Other info, if relevant, is that i am running premium gasoline and I have noticed that the temperature guage is the slightest bit above halfway. (I read some passing reference in a previous post to the ECU cutting boost if it is too hot?)

Any help greatly appreciated.
