Airbags - first year of Second Generation Airbags?

What is the first year Volvo put the secon genration/depowered airbags in their cars? It's 1998 for Ford and many others. Thanks.

I believe 01 was the first year. They're 2 stage bags. There are 2 igniters that deploy the bag. In a severe crash, both fire for rapid bag deployment.
