Will 98 T5 rotors fit a 97 T5?? 850 1997

Hi all-i'm about to replace rotors and was wondering if I can order for a '98 T5 or V70R(which are a little bigger than 97s) for my 97T5? BTW, i'm running 17x8 rims, so space is not a problem. is the bolt on the same; and what are the exact dimensions of the two? Also, anyone using BALO rotors and care to share experience. I'm thinking since Benzs are king of the autobahns, those std. rotors must be pretty good to be on there!!! TIA, DP

the c36 amg gets its front brakes from the sl600, 12.6 in rotors and calipers. pedal feel is a little long, but once u get past that initial squishy feel, it really hauls the car down. i've got 13" brembos on my 855, and the feel is a little better than those on the c36, go figure.

You have to use 280mm rotors unless you also replace the caliper mounts. If you do that, you can then run the 302mm or the 320mm Volvo rotors.

So, volvospeed, if I replace the caliper mounts alone I can run 320mm front rotors!!??? How involved is that project(can I get at the dealer and have an indie install?) and since i'm a bit metric-challenged, how many inches is +40mm?(i know i could do the conversion at an internet site.......)

If you round up there are 26mm in an inch. And yes, caliper mounts alone and you can run 320mm rotors. The catch is, in the US the kit cost almost 800 from Volvo for the hangers and the rotors. Your better off with a custom system.

But is there a way to mount Porsche Big Red Calipers? 850 1997

And the rotors to match? Now that would be something!

I've seen this kit with the porsche calipers. Something like $3500.
Here is one after a google.com search:

        http://www.ultimategarage.com/bigbrake1.html

Have you seen this month's Car and Driver? They test several big
brake kits on a WRX Subaru. Overall, stopping distances are not
reduced all that much (considering the $3000+ price tags). The
big difference is that the bigger brakes don't fade so you can
repeat the stops over and over on your favorite twisty road.

Yes any caliper you want can be mounted if your willing to play with offset and have big enough rims. Total cost on a porsche kit is under 2000 at most good performance shops. Movit makes good kits, but over priced. Some people want a pre-fab kit though.
