I may have been the one who posted about this a year or so ago. Actually if you've gone as far as you have you've taken the instrument cluster out and that is the hardest part (I did the same thing). However I sent it off to Overseas Speedometer in Austin, Tx. Rick Borth, the owner works on Volvo's, BMW's, Porche's, Mercedes and other European car odometers and speedometers. In fact he is the one our local Mercedes dealer sends their odo-speedometers to. I talked to Rick by phone first before sending my unit off to him and he was very personable, explaining a lot about the internal workings of my odometer, and walking me through diagnosing my problem which was the cog on one of the gears He did a great job in fixing it for about $100 (including shipping) and getting the odometer back to me in just a few days. Evidently the gears break easily and he replaced it with one that I believe is made of teflon Anyway, Rick may be willing to sell you the gear itself and send that to you too. His number is 800-444-0292. He also has a website at www.speedometer.com Good luck :)
