A/C cycling question V70-XC70 1998

When the a/c is on in my V70t5m, the car almost feels like it misses everytime the a/c compressor cycles. It is most noticeable when driving at a steady speed, but I can feel it during accelerations too. It feels like a slight miss and is probably imperceptible to everyone else in the car except me. The dealer said this is normal and is caused by the a/c compressor putting load on the engine when it cycles back on. I guess I can buy this, but it seems to happen too often to be normal though the a/c works fine. I would say that it probably occurs every 20-30 seconds. My wife's s70na doesn't seem to do this (or at least not as noticeably). Has anyone else noticed this and is it normal? If not, anyone know what causes it? How often should the a/c compressor click on and off?
Thanks!

    A/C cycling question V70-XC70 1998

I can kind of notice it on my 98T5M. More so then my wife's
95 855. I wonder if the manual tranny makes it more easily
    felt?

Also, if low on refrigerant the AC will cycle more often. That happened
on our 95 but it cycled about every 5 seconds. I'm not sure if a 30 second
cycle would be normal, or not. Mine seems to cycle at longer intervals
    then 30 seconds, though.
