Warped Spare Cover S40-V40 2001

I've had my 2001 v40 for just under 2 years. I have recently noticed that the panel covering the spare tire well has warped. The two sides now curl up slightly, and one annoying result is that the lid now bounces up and down when the car is moving. The lid seems to be made of some sort of fiber board with the carpeting adheared to the top and another fabric underneath.

Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a simple repair? Maybe more importantly, is this covered under the waranty?

Thanks
Mark B

That is strange...never heard of such item warping!

It should be covered under the original 48-month/50,000-mile warranty.

Trust me, I'm not making this up! The resulting bouncing becomes annoying when driving with nothing in the back.

I'll take this up with my dealer in DC. Thanks for your guidance!

I also had a warped spare tire cover on my '01 v40 which was replaced at no charge under warranty. Hope this new one holds up for more than 1 year.
