electronic ignition 850

what would be involved in converting my 850 to electronic ignition, my car now needs new wires and distributor, so im wondering if its not that much more to convert. (125k on original wires and distributor)

oh okay. I guess i did not realise that it was computer controlled in this car. I saw the distributor and figured i did not have electronic ignition. My last car did not thats why i wasnt sure, (not a volvo)

    thanks.

You have electronic ignition now. 850

Cars have ALL had electronic ignition for at least 25 yrs now, so you're already A-OK.
I think you mean that your car needs new ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor (not a new distributor, no need as there's nothing else to it).....basic maintenance items and rarely needed (like maybe every 125K miles) and not a big deal. No need to convert anything.

As the 850 allready has electronic/computer controlled ignition, I don't understand what you're looking for.

I assume he means distributerless ignition, IE coilpacks. Dont bother, no gain and would cost a ton of money.

That may not even be possible for an 850 but if it were, yeah...big $$$, no gain.
