Now we're cruisin'!

This is what an S40 T4 tuned to 300+hp will do.. 170mph fast enough for ya? :)

No this isn't photoshop.. Look how confused the tripcomputer has become with it's 'km until no fuel' reading :)

It's in swedish, but check out: http://w1.411.telia.com/~u41109376

Bye, Arno.

Kinda reminds me of that guy who shot a video in his Ferrari F-40. That was fun, until someone gave it to the cops. No sense of humor these days. Actually I have chatted with some in the UK who are running the same speeds with their t-5's, all you need to do is change out the ecu which limits top end, and boost hp to the 280+ range.

I have to play devils advocate here and thus cast some doubt. I can't read swedish so can you provide an english page of the same or any details in english?
One could get those guages to do that in a guage calibration test (car not moving, hooked up to Vadis cart) so that in itself doesn't prove anything to me.

      Sure, no problem..

Unfortunately there's no english page.. But I can give a short overview of the car..

It's a T4 which was first tuned with a free flow exhaust, downpipe, upgrade fuel pressure regulator and ECU tuning (keeping the standard TD04hl-14t turbo) to about 270HP using 1.3 bar boost.

After that he had the turbo changed to a TD04hl-19t turbo from an european V70R. The ECU was re-mapped and the boost pressure increased to 1.3bar (19psi) for normal running.

He can increase the boost to 1.6bar (23psi), but will need to change the conrods and crankshaft to forged types to run it permanently. He's also upgrading the intercooler and some other bits to cope with this.

It now puts out 308Hp at 1.4bar boost (see: http://w1.411.telia.com/~u41109376/hk_14t_19t.jpg)

Tuning was done by AutotechMotor (http://www.atechmotor.com) who are also doing a 400HP S40 T4.

True.. But he has made a longer series of images showing the run up to this speed.

I have seen a similar sight on my TME-tuned S40 T4 on the german autobahn. Pissed off some BMW 740iL drivers to no end that a lowly S40 would pass them when they were pegged at their 250km/h limiter :) :)

      Bye, Arno.

At the very least, I would say that would have been a very awkward time to get out the camera and snap a photo......?

On the other hand....in the last three years or so that I been reading posts from Arno, he is usually spot on.

Yeah, Arno's cool but I'd simply like to be able to read more details if possible, after all...............it's the internet and anyone who's been around for a while has probably seen a few questionable pics by now.
