Coolant / antifreeze -- best brand 850 1996

Both the Haynes book that I have and the owners manual say to use the special 'type C' Volvo coolant. Is there any thing different about Volvo coolant, or can I just use a quality 'regular' antifreze?

Peak! They make more for OEM than anyone.. Prestone is far too acidic....(Sells radiators) I have used Peak in all European vehicles for years, Mercedes, BMW's and Volvo's.....

I use Flag antifreeze at Checker Auto Parts. Have been for years with no problems. It is a generic brand. Same stuff at a cheaper price.
