How to get the transmission codes from 94 850 Turbo 850

I have a Hanes book but it does not tell me how to retrieve fault codes for the transmission? which socket A1??

I have a flashing arrow and it was like the car was starting off in 2nd gear then I stopped for a while and all is fine but the arrow still flashes.

Any one know how to get the trans codes and what they mean??

Mark

It's a diagnostic plug type connector in front of the WW filler, RF corner under the hood. Put the pin into socket A1 and with the ign on, press the botton once. It'll then flash a 3 digit code, count the flashes in between pauses. 1-1-1 is A-OK but you'll probably get a 3-1-3 for PNP switch (guessing) and it's shifting abnormally because it's in "limp home" mode.

A2 codes can be found here: http://www.batauto.com/Volvo.html
I'm not sure about A1 codes. I just asked this earlier this week because I had a 2-1-3 in A1 and nothing in A2 but never got any responses. Let's hope some knowledgable person comes back from vacation or quits living life and checks on the Internet ;)
