How do you reset the check engine light on a 1998 C70 coupe, due to a loose gas cap without taking the car to a Volvo dealer to be reset. Anyone know any tricks for this one?

    Since you have a '98, the only way to do it is through the dealer. For the 99+, you can rest it through the trip computer.

      I think you mistake check engine light for service reminder light.

    If it's due to a gas cap being previously loose and now OK, it'll reset (go off) by itself after a few days of driving. If there's still a problem and it stays on, a scan tool will be required to reset it.
