Differences in electronic management V70-XC70

Is anybody familiar with the electronic management differences between the 140 bhp engine and the 170 bhp (B5244S2 and B5244S) The power and torque graphs seem to show a rev limiter (4500) on the 140 bhp. Is the extra power of the 170 bhp simply obtained by allowing the engine to rev to nearly 6000rpm?

Power and torque for the 140 and 170 HP versions are almost identical up to 4500 rpm. All the additional power of the 170 HP version comes above 4500 rpm.

I had this dilemma too, and decided for the 140 HP version. Only if you think you will drive many times above 4500 rpm then it is worth it. If you really want to feel difference go for the 2.4T (light pressure turbo). However there is a price difference of about 5000 EURO with the 140 HP.

Greetings,

Dutchman
