Thanks to the messages posted out here , I was able to program my remote for 1993 volvo 850 . 5 times and press a button, it works!

I am thinking of buying a remote off of Ebay. Does yours look like the one in this link

Those numbers don't match the ones on the back of mine, I have a 1995 GLT 850, although it looks identical. Apparently there are two different models. I also bought it in ebay for 18.00 and it works perfect, (after I first replaced the battery ) . ( I programmed it using the ignition key sequence.)
Just to be sure , check with the dealer on the two different types.
