Again with the scamsoil thing??
from http://www.amsoil.com/frequent.htm#warranty
Absolutely not! Manufacturers’ warranties are based upon the use of oils meeting specific API Service Classifications, for example, SJ/CF. (AMSOIL lubricants meet the current API Service requirements and, thus, are perfectly suited for use in any new vehicle without affecting the validity of the new vehicle warranty)
Amsoil easily meets the API requirements. They are NOT afraid of the "tests".
It's very evident that some folks don't understand the difference between passing the tests and paying to have the formulation controlled by API. By the way Amsoil does have some of their lesser grades of oil with the API sunburst - so this means API has the formulation, now if Amsoil wants to improve the formulation of these oils they must resubmit for the 18-24 month process. And believe me Exxon/Mobil, etc get special treatment in those lines (and tests).
If Amsoil ever failed the tests....let me tell you the world would know. Castrol, Mobil, Shell, Chervon would be sure of that.
As for cars coming off the line with any type of oil - it's up to the lowest bid and who knows who....
