Well it is time to move on. V70-XC70

Hello All,

Well it is time to move on.

With only 1,500 miles left on the warranty and after 34 failed parts with 38 trips to the Dealer for warranty work I finally decided my 1999 Volvo XC had to go.

I am glad that this WEB page is here for it has been very helpful to me in solving some of my major issues with my XC.

I will surely miss hanging around reading the many posts from all of you out there.

Located at the following WEB page you will find the photos of my new car.

Best Wishes, Good Luck and Hope you have a lot of many happy miles of driving,

Steven ~:-}

Good choice!!!!!!!!!

I have both, 99' ML320 w/53K miles, and 01' Volvo S60 w/15K miles. I am extremely happy with both, and I think I will keep'em both for a long time.

ML problems so far: 1. front twin fans replaced, 2. Battery leaking, replace complete enclosure, paint and new battery. 3. PWindow switch replaced (known problem), 4. Cam Shaft pulley broke (known problem), replaced timing belt cover, oil pan, tensioner, and cam shaft pulley ($2,800). All covered under warranty. Hope that is it!

Note on MB: my original general tires lasted for 52K miles, replaced at dealer with same for $90 each. 4 tires, and associated goodies and alignment for $650 al together. Parts at dealer are very reasonably priced.

Volvo problems so far: none.

Good Luck!

After reading your post (38 trips to the dealer) I don't blame you a bit for dumping the Volvo. However, Mercedes Benz quality has never been worse. Never. and you just acquired one of their most troublesome platforms.
I sincerely hope that you have a positive ownership experience (I really do) but the odds are against you.
p.s. sweet vehicle (I saw your pics)

Good choice, I've been looking at the M class too, but still cannot afford it.
By the time my wife agreed to order, they do not have any 7-seats of 2002 in Toronto.
My wife moved to Honda Pilot. My heart still with the M class.
Check out this good site for M class http://12.103.217.174/forums/w163/list.asp

Good luck.

Sorry to hear of your horrible experience with the XC. Your MBZ is a beauty! Congratulations!
