EGR valve replace? 850

I am coming up to 100K miles on a 94 850. Question, The maintenance schedule shows the only out of the ordinary thing to do is the EGR valve. It states to inspect it. What am i suppose to look for and is it worth it just to replace it with a new one. thanks Ken

    When my 945T EGR "valve" turned on the CE light, I discovered that the EGR system is a complex beast, even in my 1994 car, that can cost over $250 in various parts. My indy tech indicated it isn't just a valve, anymore.

    I have yet to see one go bad and most people never inspect it by actually removing it as it's never causing problems.
    IMHO, it's one of those things that "if it's not broken, don't fix it". Save your time and money for something else.
