Do what Christina said .... BUT, be sure you know the security code before you disconnect the power.

This is also true if you disconnect the battery, as I did to remove the upper fascia to get at my instrument panel.

Don't intend to be snide, but if you had to ask how to remove the radio, then there is a better than even chance that you are unaware of needing to enter the code after you reapply the power.

Do you have the owner's manual in your glove box?

    Good Luck.

There are two bars, each about 1.5" long, inset in both sides of the stereo. Use a narrow instrument to push the bars in and they will pop out as handles. Them simply (and gently) pull the stereo out.

Incidentally, I was able to reset the microswitch without disconnecting the stereo.

Christina, you rock and so do all the other people who helped. I did exactly what you said yesterday and now my stereo is playing CD's again, I had almost resigned myself to going to the dealer and shelling out $350 for a refurbished Volvo stereo. Removing and toggling the switch was so easy. Once again thanks alot.
