850 Driver window problem 850 1995

1995 850 wagon...driver's side front window...going up or down the front of the window wants to fall lower than the rear (lock side)...I replaced the track on the lock side, hoping it would work...no dice. even with the window in both it's tracks, the window wants to fall in the front, thus making it impossible to use the window. Any ideas?

There are 2 plastic sloding blocks, 1 at each end of the window, that attach the window to the regulator. Front one may have come apart or broken. Remove the door panel and you will find a black tar paper like cover toward the front that covers an access hole in the door. It sticks on with adhesive. About 3x6" Remove it and roll the window till the attachment is in the opening for inspection. If the block is broken, they are available seperately and can be installed without removing the window or regulator.

Bill, I see "blocks" which are round discs which ride in tracks attached to the bottom of the window...the rear one slides in it's track, the front one seems stationary...any other "blocks"? Any other ideas?

I used to have a volvo 480 and i had to change the window mechanism. you may find this useful or not!the glass was connected to the lift arm by 2 bolts and when i was setting the glass to the correct position i left them lose. when the glass went up and down the i would tend to fall forward when going up.

Basically take of the door panel and see if the glass is loose.

    good luck
