HELP: Shift lock/ABS light/ no turn signals/ all at once 850 1995

This event has occured 3 times in my '95 850 turbo.
Today I drove to lunch with no problems. I start the car to return frm lunch and the ABS light is light. The car won't shift out of park unless I press the shift lock release button. And I try to use my turns signals they don't work. However the hazards do work.

This exact combination of problems has occured in my car on 2 other occations that I can recall.

If I turn the ignition off and then restart the car all the problems dissapear.

Does anyone have any insight into this issue. It has occured about once every other month. Knowing the car/ service department timing will never match to be able to resolve the issue.

    Scroll down the page to a post titled "Strange Failure". Sounds like your ignition switch is the culprit and there are responses and links listed in replys to that post.

    Sounds like the ignition switch. Try jiggling the key around next time and see if it resolves, if so, you know where the problem is.

    Don't know beyond that.

      Thanks for the input. The service mgr said the ignitions switch contact plate is bad.

        I was just about to post a problem report when I saw yours. My wife's 95 850 did the same thing. No lights, turn signals. ABS light on. I get in, turn it on starts fine, everything O.K. till I bumped the switch. Bang back to problem.
        p.s. she did have a weighty key ring, might of exasperated the problem. Cheesy switch.
